  • Explore an understanding of problems and our inbuilt response,

  • Gain an awareness of the different types of problems we face and what we can do about them,
  • Identify why cognitive distortions, rigidity, assumptions, expectations, etc, all impact on how we make decisions,
  •  Learn techniques and practices to help solve problems and make decisions,

Programme content:

  • Why problems are illusions of the mind and why the way we see the problem is the problem!
  • How to remove the stumbling blocks to dealing with problems – Perceptual, Emotional, Intellectual, Inability to communicate solution, Cultural, Environmental,
  • Why all problems have two features in common: goals and barriers,
  • How to overcome indecisiveness and make effective decisions,
  • Dealing with the problem of the “the attention we give to the problem”,
  • How to become a proactive, solution focused and an “I can do” person,
  • Techniques to solve problems involving our own behaviour, involving others and problems we have no control over,
  • Recognising and managing an “Emotion focus” and “Problem focus” when coping with problems,
  • How to address procrastination and deal effectively with change,
  • Moving out of the comfort zone and identifying priorities when making decisions,
  • How to manage anxiety and frustration associated with decision making and indecisiveness,
  • How to deal with the fear of “letting go”, procrastination and making a decision,
  • How to put in place a decision making strategy,
